Ventilator/Respiratory Unit

Our respiratory services include providing care for residents requiring BIPAP and CPAP therapy as well as tracheostomies. We offer individualized respiratory rehabilitation programs including breathing exercises, physical therapy, ventilator management, and progressive vent weaning programs. Not only do we provide long-term care, but we also specialize in an aggressive approach of weaning residents off the ventilator. Our respiratory staff has helped many residents regain breathing stability and hope.

The Respiratory Program is under the direction of a Registered Respiratory
Therapist. Daily respiratory care is administered by a staff of licensed respiratory
care professionals and specially trained nurses under the supervision of the
resident's physician.

Specialized services include:

- Successful ventilator weaning program with pressure support ventilation.
- Non-invasive ventilation to manage sleep disorders. On-site sleep studies to titrate BIPAP/CPAP settings.
- Protocols for tracheotomy tube changes, oxygen delivery, pulse oximetry, on site ABG's and ventilator management.
- Bedside spirometry and individualized pulmonary rehabilitation procedures.
